#TBT - Caramelized Onions in Slow Cooker

Caramelized onions can really kick a number of recipes up a notch, but they are time-consuming to make. When you need to put together something quickly, they just aren't an option unless you have some prepared and ready to go. They freeze great, and if they are packed in freezer bags and mashed flat before freezing as shown in the picture, it doesn't take long for them to thaw.  Put the bag in a bowl of cold water to hurry the process along if you need to.  


Add them to homemade pizza, burgers, pasta or steak (just to mention a few uses) and it adds a whole new dimension to the finished dish.  For the original post, click here.
